You’d think a 54-hole event in Rogers, Ark. could get lost in the shuffle of the busiest, biggest stretch of the LPGA summer, but the Walmart Northwest Arkansas Championship has found a solid niche.

Part of that actually is the schedule; it comes after a week off following the Women’s PGA Championship, and before a week before leading in to the U.S. Women’s Open. Who’s gonna take three weeks in a row off between majors?

Among the field are 17 of the top 20 in the Sony World Rankings, including 2014 winner (and Arkansas Razorback) Stacy Lewis and 2013 winner and world No. 1 Inbee Park.

And yes, it’s the final tuneup before they all come to Lancaster Country Club.
