Se Ri Pak, winner of 25 LPGA tour events and four major championships including the 1998 U.S. Women’s Open, has withdrawn from this year’s Women’s Open at Lancaster Country Club, the United States Golf Association announced Monday.

No reason was given.

Pak, whose win in the ’98 Open at Blackwolf Run in Kohler, Wisconsin is considered a seminal moment in popularizing the game globally, was fully exempt for this year’s Open. Her play has been poor of late; she hasn’t made a cut since March and withdrew from her last two scheduled tournaments.

Pak will be replaced in the Open by Georgia Hall, of England, who was the first alternate in the Buckinghamshire, England, sectional qualifier. Hall will be making her first U.S. Women’s Open appearance.
